Early Start Imagination Camp (ESIC) - 3, 4 and 5 year olds

Camp is for everybody at Oasis in LIU Post in Nassau County, NY!

Designed to meet the social, emotional, and physical needs of our Early Start Campers ages 3-5 who haven't started Kindergarten.

For most children, camp means a set of "firsts," this is especially true for our youngest campers-the first time playing with others, the first time learning to swim, and the first time riding a bus.

The Oasis Early Start Imagination Camp program strives to create a nurturing transition into the camp environment, working hard to make both our families and campers feel safe.

The Early Start Imagination Camp:
  • For campers ages 3-5 who have not yet completed Kindergarten and are fully potty trained.
  • Has reduced staff-to-camper ratios.
  • Has a flexible schedule that's modified to meet the needs and skill level of our youngest campers.
  • A larger program that has opportunities for campers to participate in special events and activities with the entire camp community.
  • Intentionally designed by Early Childhood educators with your child's needs in mind.
  • Includes participation in "Ready For September": Oasis' patented school-year readiness program that helps campers prepare for the social elements and routines associated with being in a large-group enrichment setting.
  • Offers a blended program combining active, passive, and enrichment-based activities, tailored specifically to the ages and stages of our ESIC campers.
  • Read this post for more information on our Early Start Imagination Camp program.

Lower Day Camp Program - 1st and 2nd grade

Special attention is paid to ensure that activities and instruction are developmentally appropriate for the varied ages of our campers going into the 1st and 2nd grades.

Lower Camp:
  • Lower Camp is comprised of campers going into first and second grades.
  • What campers at this age need is structure and exposure to a variety of activities.
  • While variety is great, we still want Lower Campers to have choice in their programming, so periodically throughout the week they will select their own activities.

Just The Right Mix of Learning & Recreation

Swimming and pool-time is a favorite for campers and we split time between instruction and free time. Instructors focus on skill development in a supportive environment, and then kids get to have fun and splash around with their friends. Our aquatics activities take place at LIU Post’s indoor collegiate salt water swimming pool.

Expert Coaching

We provide kids with modern athletic facilities and expert athlete instructors who specialize in soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, lacrosse, instructional swimming, horseback riding, flag football, and martial arts.  Learning and fun go hand-in-hand as campers develop their skills and are given the chance to reach their individual potential.

Enrichment and Academic Programs

We offer a variety of enrichment activities:

From coding to robotics, radio programming, cooking and Legos, enrichment at Oasis is key to the balance of our summer activites.

Oasis “E-KIDS” Program

Become an Oasis “E”-Kid and continue to maximize your potential! Studies suggest that most students lose about two months of grade level equivalency in mathematical computation and reading skills over the summer months. With our Oasis “E-Kids” program, campers will have the opportunity to recieve tutoring 3x a week, for 1 hour at a time. The sessions will be focused on math enrichment, ELA enrichment, and completing a summer book project. Academic enrichment is available for $200 a week, for campers entering the 1st through 6th grade.

Oasis has a long history of offering academic enrichment services and has been widely recognized for that work. We have won both Federal and State government awards and independent reviews of our work, completed by Johns Hopkins University, have confirmed that students who participate in our programs perform statistically better than non-participating peers.  With all of this experience under our belt, Oasis “E-Kids” is sure to be a success for every one our participating campers.
