< back to blog home

Charles Giegerich is entering his second summer at Oasis Day Camp. Last Summer he was at our LIU Post Location, and is thrilled to be taking on the role as Camp Director at Bayside this summer. Charles will serve as a full time camp director and will be available 12 months of the year.

Charles comes to Oasis with extensive experience. Previous to Oasis Charles held the role as Camp Director in Lower Manhattan for nationally known camp organization Steve& Kate’s Camp. In 2016-2018 Charles was the Assistant Camp Director at Camp Jacobson in Nassau County.

He started his camping career in 1997 as a general counselor at Camp Mohawk, in where he stayed and had various roles until 2009. He then proceeded to spend the next 6 summers at The Field Club of Greenwich in which he held the title of Camp Director. Over a period of fifteen years, he dedicated his off-season to teaching Physical Education for children from ages three to eighteen.

Charles loves to see campers grow emotionally, physically, and socially through a summer camp experience. He believes that the key to a successful summer is a great staff, staff development, programing, and most of all feedback from parents and campers.

Charles holds a Masters degree in School Administration, B.S in Psychology, and A.A.S in Early Childhood. He loves to play softball, and is a proud father of his 12 year old son and 2 year old daughter!
