Accomplishments
Since 2000, Oasis has impacted the lives of more than 30,000 children in New York City, Westchester County, Long Island, and New Jersey through our dynamic programming and effective out-of-school time education programs. Oasis has also committed to building the communities we operate within by supporting fundraisers, providing scholarships, and collaborating and maintaining successful relationships with a diverse array of schools and public agencies including the NYC Department of Education, the NYC Parks Department, CUNY and numerous not-for-profits.
Because of the efforts of the Oasis staff, we have implemented:
- Kids College at Queensborough Community College: a weekend program available for children aged Pre-K through 12th Grade, Oasis provided children with classes in a variety of subjects, (such as Algebra, Living Environment), Test Prep, Sports and Recreation Activities, Academic Enrichment (Grades K-12), Video Game Design, Chorus, Music Lessons, and a book club for children.
- Brownsville, Brooklyn: Since 2003 Oasis programs have served over 500 elementary and middle school children annually in Brownsville, Brooklyn through summer programs implemented at IS 55 and PS 298.
- Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn: Since 2005, Oasis programs have served over 350 elementary school children annually in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn through Oasis summer programs implemented at PS 335 and PS 25

- Character Education: In 2008 Oasis served students through three summer programs at PS 20, JHS 167, and Kappa II deemed in need of "character education", partnering academic work with programming designed to strengthen the character, experience, and perspective of at-risk youth.
- Summer Success: Oasis operated 26 "summer success academies" throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn throughout NYC DOE Requirements Contract. These programs operated in conjunction with traditional summer schools and served over 2,000 children.
- Students in Temporary Housing (STH): Since 2005 Oasis has worked with New York City's STH through multiple NYC DOE contracts dedicated to serving this unique population. Over 600 children are served annually throughout Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan.
Oasis has also developed numerous meaningful partnerships with other community based organizations, foundations, schools, and public agencies operating youth programs in conjunction with The Young Women's Leadership Foundation, Beginning With Children Foundation, Johns Hopkins Center for Summer Learning, After-school All-stars, The After School Corporation, Groundworks, Inc., Youth Venture, Kids Creative, 1199, NYC Parks Department, Nassau County Parks Department, North Shore Child & Guidance, Long Island University, Drew University, and Mercy College.
