A week in the Life in the Funded Program

A Typical Day at Oasis

Everyday Oasis children participate in a wide range of activities. Academic activities are complemented with recreational and arts activities. They may include creative writing, poetry, science and math as well as theater games, yoga, dance, arts and crafts, sports and team building. The program is organized around a theme; all activities tie into the theme as does the end of summer show or culminating event. Having an overarching theme contextualizes learning for students and creates opportunities for interdisciplinary teaching throughout the summer.

The day is divided into three parts: morning rally, 4 daily activity sessions and an end-of-day ritual.  The activities are balanced between high energy and low energy activities and are conducted both indoors and outside.
