Group Leader
You will be a role model, mentor and friend to a group of 12 to 15 children. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the children's safety, managing the children's behavior; building relationships with the children and making sure that each child is happy and feeling part of the group. Perhaps most importantly, you will model constructive participation in all the activities. The activities in which you will participate include sports, visual arts, performing arts and swim. Group Leaders must be 17 years of age or older. All Group Leaders must participate in four days of training before camp begins.

Administrative Staff
Your responsibilities will include communicating with parents, campers and staff regarding a range of organizational issues. You will assist with data entry, ordering supplies and organizing attendance sheets, bus routes and other information that staff members will need on a daily basis.

Maintenance/Support Staff
You will be part of a team that helps keep your site safe, clean and functioning. You will be outside most of the day and much of the work will be physical as you help set up equipment and make sure that the children have access to fresh water.

Program Instructor
Program instructors plan and organize educational and fun activities that enable children to discover new areas of interest, learn new skills and build new friendships. Instructors can explore new forms of teaching and try out creative ideas for engaging children. Specific instructional areas include:

Sports, Recreation and Outdoor Education
You will develop age-appropriate activities that keep children active, help them develop skills and teach them about teamwork and sportsmanship. Some sports and recreation instructors specialize in specific activities such as soccer, outdoor education, basketball or tennis. Others will lead a variety of activities such as ultimate Frisbee, flag football, rugby and lacrosse. Sports instructors must be at least of college age and have experience organizing relevant activities.

Visual and Performing Arts
You will plan and execute activities that give children the opportunity to express themselves creatively and experience the sense of accomplishment that comes from mastering techniques and completing projects. Oasis programs include drama, dance, arts and crafts, ceramics, sculpture and more. Arts instructors must have some previous teaching experience and/or expertise.

Swim
Oasis swim instructors teach children the American Red Cross Swimming program. You will teach the children everything from dunking their heads to swimming the length of the pool. You will be in the water every day, unless the weather is prohibitive. In inclement weather, swim instructors assist in other areas of the program. Swim Instructors should be certified lifeguards and should have current certification in CPR. If you are a good swimmer but not a lifeguard, Oasis offers lifeguard certification at no charge, but it requires completion of the certification course before the summer. Interested applicants should contact Oasis headquarters.

All instructors must participate in four days of training before camp begins as well as pre-camp trainings in their concentrated areas.
