Oasis Summer Quest at I.S. 313 IN BRONX

Students in the Oasis Summer Quest Program at I.S. 313 "Build Your Dream" camp are members of a positive, supportive community. Through a partnership with the Fund for Public Schools, the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development, and the Department of Education, Oasis introduces students to architecture and design, while developing their ELA and Math skills. Participants will challenge themselves with creating 3-D models of buildings and bridges, reimagining their community using design softward, and learning about architecture and sculpture through an exploration of New York City landmarks and public attractions. Daily activities include modeling/design, creative writing, math and science, visual arts and sculpture, sports and athletics, swim instruction and much more.

This camp operates from July 8th thru August 9th, 2013. Registration begins April 1st, 2013 and ends on June 21st, 2013.

Program Times

Families are welcome to drop their children off in the mornings between 8:00-8:30am and afternoon pick up is from 5:00pm-5:30pm. Campers are engaged in a diverse schedule of programming from 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m. daily.

Meals

Breakfast is available daily for any child that would like to eat between the hours of 8:00a.m. and 9:00a.m. A nutritional lunch is also provided daily and of course, water is always readily available.Breakfast and lunch are provided through the SchoolFood Summer Meals Program.

Facilities

I.S. 313 The School of Leadership Development is located at 1600 Webster Avenue, Bronx, NY 10457. Campers utilize the school grounds and nearby parks and fields for outdoor activities. Our campers will travel to and from Crotona pool, just minutes away from I.S. 313, for swim instruction.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to attend this camp, campers must be in or entering grades 6-8 and attend I.S. 313. Additional eligibility criteria must be met. Applicants must be approved by the school.

License Information

This camp is licensed by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and is inspected twice yearly. The inspection reports are filed at the Bureau of Food Safety and Community Sanitation. If you have questions, please contact Oasis at 718-596-4900.

Rain Day Policy

On rainy days, all activities are moved to indoor spaces. Campers participate in pre-scheduled academic and enrichment activities, group games, arts and crafts, and special events.

Staffing

Oasis staff members are a mixture of teachers, coaches, college students, and dedicated youth workers. Our staff encourage your child through role modeling and full participation to become a part of the Oasis community. Our counselor to camper ratio is 1:6.
