Christina Soto - Early Start Imagination Camp Director
Christina is returning for her 6th summer at Oasis and her first as the Early Start Imagination Camp Director (ESIC)! She started out as a counselor in Upper Camp and later became a Division Leader for Upper Camp. Christina has always loved camp and working with children. She holds a Bachelor's degree from SUNY New Paltz in History and Secondary Education and is finishing up her Master’s degree in School Psychology with a Bilingual Extension from Mercy College. She graduates in May and will be a Nationally Certified School Psychologist for the NYC DOE. She is currently completing her internship with the NYC DOE as a Psychologist in Training.
Christina has experience working with all age groups, as she was a Nursery School teacher for a 3’s program during her graduate studies and is currently working with High School students. She loves working with all different age groups, especially the youngest campers here at Central Park. ESIC campers experience many firsts and she loves being part of their growth, not only socially, but emotionally as well. Christina believes that play is a child’s work and brings that idea of Jean Piaget to camp with her, as she makes sure all her campers go home tired from their eventful day of playing and enjoying all the camp activities Central Park has to offer. Her favorite part of camp is seeing the smiles on her camper's faces when they try something they have never tried before. She is looking forward to meeting every single smiling ESIC camper and sending them home tired and dirty! She can’t wait to meet you all during Summer 2017!
