    Staff
Most families agree that the defining characteristic of Oasis is our staff, a mixture of teachers, coaches, college students, and program specialists. Our adult to child ratio is 1 to 5. Each group of 15 children has 2 group leaders. Oasis has a nurse or EMT at the site headquarters as well as a team of certified lifeguards for trips to beaches.

Oasis puts a tremendous emphasis on training. All staff members participate in at least four full days of training before the program begins and our senior staff members participate in training programs throughout the year. Our training includes on-site orientation, a computer based training course, a comprehensive training handbook and an in-service training course called Group Leadership in Youth Programming for which undergraduates can receive up to four college credits.
