The Program
This summer, why leave the city? For ten years, Oasis in Central Park has provided children with a fantastic opportunity to play and learn in the great outdoors... without ever leaving Manhattan. Central Park has an incredible collection of recreational facilities including tennis and basketball courts, softball fields, soccer fields, nature trails and an incredible Olympic sized outdoor swimming pool. A traditional day camp in many ways, Oasis in Central Park's program includes sports and recreation, visual and performing arts, swimming, field trips, and an outdoor education component that includes environmental studies, orienteering and much more.

A "gentler" version of Oasis in Central Park, the Hi-5 program is similar to the core program but less physically demanding. It utilizes indoor spaces at P.S. 84 and the playground south of 96th St. Children will be shuttled by bus to the pool.

Enrollment: We're Flexible!
At Oasis, families have the opportunity to enroll their children around their summer plans. Children enroll for a minimum of two consecutive weeks, a maximum of eight weeks, or any combination you choose.

Program Times & Transportation
Families are welcome to drop their children off directly at the site. Morning drop-off starts at 8:30am and afternoon pick-up is by 5:30pm. For an additional fee, you may sign up for Early Drop Off Service (8:00am-8:30am) or Late Pick Up Service (5:30pm-6:00pm).

The Oasis bus service will pick-up and drop-off campers from a number of convenient locations in select neighborhoods at an additional fee per week.

Oasis in Central Park offers a free shuttle at 97th & 5th in the AM and 96th & Madison in the PM. You must sign up for this service. Space is limited.

*Bus fees could increase based on changing gas prices. Bus routes are determined before the start of camp.

Call 646-698-1800 or email centralpark@oasischildren.com for more information on Summer 2010 bus stops

Meals
Oasis campers have a picnic lunch every day. Children bring their own lunch in a soft lunch bag. Oasis keeps lunches in coolers until lunch time and provides plenty of water at lunch and throughout the day.

Welcoming Staff Are Waiting For You!
We spend all year recruiting for the perfect mix of caring Oasis staff members. We are a mixture of teachers, coaches, college students, and program specialists. Our adult to child ratios are 1:5 to 1:7, depending on the age of the child. Each group has 2 Group Leaders. An additional staff member, an Instructor, runs each specific activity in which the children participate. A team of Division Leaders act as supervisors and every site has a nurse or EMT as well as a team of Red Cross certified lifeguards and swim instructors.

Program Dates
Oasis in Central Park will operate on weekdays, from July 5th to August 27th.
Oasis in Central Park will also offer a pre-camp Extension Week Tuesday June 29th through Friday July 2nd.
