The Program
Oasis Summer Day Camp in Central Park is a comprehensive camp and educational summer program that uses the wonderful resources found throughout Central Park in Manhattan to provide children with an extraordinary outdoor experience. Now entering its eighth year, the program is well known for providing children with opportunities to play and learn in the great outdoors... without ever leaving Manhattan.

Oasis in Manhattan's Central Park is an enriching day camp and summer program that uses the wonderful resources found within Central Park to provide children with a traditional summer camp experience that includes sports and recreation, visual and performing arts and both recreational and American Red Cross instructional swim. The program also has a unique outdoor education component that includes environmental studies, orienteering, rock climbing and much more. Oasis is headquartered on the West Side of Manhattan above 92nd Street utilizing multiple facilities for indoor space and meeting points. All buildings give us easy access to the North Meadow, the area of the park in which we run most of our activities.

Program Dates
Oasis in Central Park will operate on weekdays, from June 30th - August 22nd
Children must enroll for a minimum of two weeks. Start dates are as follows:

June 30th Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight-week enrollment
July 14th Two, three, four, five, six-week enrollment
July 28th Two, three, or four-week enrollment
August 11th Two-week enrollment only
August 25th Oasis Camp Extension Week

*there will be no camp on Friday July 4th

Flexible Enrollment
At Oasis, families have the advantage to enroll their children around their summer plans. Children enroll for a minimum of two consecutive weeks, a maximum of eight weeks or any combination you choose. For an additional fee, Oasis offers bus service or an early-drop off, late stay option.

Program Times
Oasis runs a full day, from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Camper Drop off is from 8:30am-9am and Pick Up from 5-5:20pm. An Early Drop off, Late Stay option is available for an additional $60 per week ($30/week for AM/PM only).

Cost

A $250 deposit is due at the time of enrollment. The remaining balance is due by May 30th, 2008. If you are enrolling after May 30th, your balance is due in FULL at the time of enrollment.

2 weeks: $950
3 weeks: $1,330
4 weeks: $1,680
5 weeks: $2,010
6 weeks: $2,320
7 weeks: $2,600
8 weeks: $2,850

Don't forget! Families have the opportunity to SAVE on the weekly camp fee by enrolling for the entire summer or a combination of multiple weeks!

* Oasis Bus Service is an additional $60 per week.
** Early Drop off/Late Stay is an additional $60/week.

Ages
The core program at Oasis in Central Park is for boys and girls ages 6 through 11. Children are grouped by age.

Oasis also features the Hi-5 program, an introductory camp experience for 5 year olds. Oasis Hi-5 is similar to the core program but is less physically demanding for smaller children. Click Here for more information on Oasis in Central Park Hi-5.

Transportation
Families can drop their children at a variety of specified meeting points. We also have free bus pick-up and drop-off on East 96th Street. The traditional Oasis bus service stops throughout Manhattan and costs $60 per week.

Trips
At Oasis, children also have the opportunity to go on field trips. Children travel on yellow Oasis school buses to attractions of interest and educational value. Past trips have included Long Island Beaches, the New York Hall of Science and the Bronx Zoo.

Rainy Days
When the weather is bad, children enjoy a wide range of indoor activities. Some children may travel with our staff to museums or other local attractions while others spend the day at one of our many indoor spaces participating in creative art projects or utilizing the gymnasium.

Meals
Children bring lunch from home and picnic in the park every day. Oasis refrigerates the lunches, provides juice, plenty of water, and serves an afternoon snack.

Staff
The Oasis staff are a big part of our outstanding spirit. We are a mixture of teachers, coaches, college students, and program specialists. Our adult to child ratio is 1 to 5. Each group of 15 children has 2 group leaders. An additional staff person, a specialist, runs each specific activity in which the children participate. A team of Division Leaders act as supervisors and every site has a nurse or EMT as well as a team of certified lifeguards. Many Oasis senior staff members participate in trainings throughout the year and college undergraduates have the opportunity to take an in-service training course during the summer for which they can receive up to four college credits.

Camp Extension Program
From August 25th through August 29th, Oasis will run a week-long, full-day, camp extension program. The extension program will include daily excursions such as beach trips, roller skating and more. For more information on the camp extension program, please CALL 718-596-4900.
