How We Operate

Diverse Funding Sources Make Youth Programs Possible!

Oasis collaborates with various agencies and organizations to bring FREE ("Funded") youth programs to local schools and communities.

Schools, school districts and other youth-serving organizations hire Oasis to run programs for their children. Oasis program examples include:

  • Afternoon enrichment programs in summer schools throughout Brooklyn and Queens for the NYC Department of Education
  • Full-day, seven-week summer enrichment programs in Bed-Stuy and Brownsville, Brooklyn funded by the New York State Department of Education through 21st Century Community Learning Center grants
  • A year-round after-school program for Long Island University as part of a federal grant to prevent youth violence

Oasis manages every aspect of program execution including student enrollment and tracking, parent relations, staff recruiting, staff training, health and safety licensing and insurance. Oasis collaborates with principals and organization leaders to create an individualized program that meets their students' specific needs.

Our community-oriented approach to youth development targets a wide range of outcomes for young people, enhancing social competence and social understanding, preventing teen violence, drug use and teen pregnancy and supporting the educational process in the classroom.
