Earn 4 College Credits This Summer While You Earn Money!
Oasis is far more enriching than an ordinary summer camp experience. Members of the Oasis team work with children in a fun, outdoor environment and have the opportunity to develop professional expertise in areas ranging from education to management. In fact, college students can earn up to four college credits for their participation in the Oasis Professional Development Program. Members of the Oasis team participate in an ongoing summer course named Group Leadership in Youth Programming (G.L.Y.P).
Course Requirements: Course registration occurs after an applicant has been hired for the summer. Participants must attend one 8-hour class during the summer. Other course requirements include: daily journal entries, accessing online reading materials to prepare for coursework and written assignments, and leading an activity under the observation of the course instructor. Oasis will supply all course materials. If participants intend to apply for college credit, they will also have to take a final exam. You must be employed with Oasis in order to participate in the GLYP course. There are only 8 hours of classroom time required outside of working at an Oasis Program.
